What is Account IQ?

On Dec 6, 2023, I helped launch the Account IQ feature to all the users on the LinkedIn Sales Navigator product. This new feature uses GenAI to consolidate in one place everything a sales rep needs to know about their target accounts: their financials, their strategic priorities, pain points, what leaders are talking about on LinkedIn and more. It allows salespeople to get prepared for a customer call in just a few minutes when it took them hours of research in the past.

This project is one of the highlighted LinkedIn GAI projects in LinkedIn’s strategy to deliver AI-powered, tailored advice & guidance to every member & customer through each of our products.

As the lead designer on the team:

  • I collaborated with my product partner to create a clear product roadmap and negotiated feature priorities for launch in various stages.
  • I partnered with user researcher and PMM to run user testings and surveys to uncover insights and quickly gather feedback to help the design iterations.
  • I presented my designs to gain approval from senior stakeholders in both design and product, and prepared materials for presentation to the LinkedIn CEO and CPO.
  • I designed user flows, wireframes, hi-fi prototypes and collaborated with engineers and PM partners to ensure a smooth handoff. I also created the vision and strategy for future design explorations.

Outcome and impact

  • Account IQ is the biggest revenue driving GAI investment across all of LinkedIn. In just 2 months, Account IQ has helped deliver $17M in new customer acquisition and revenue wins.
  • Sellers start to book more meetings
  • Sellers said prospects were impressed by their knowledge about their companies
  • Sellers were considering replacing other sales tools
  • Account IQ has received over 50 media coverages as of November 2013, and this number continues to rise.
